Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year competition 2017

I was delighted to be selected to take part in the Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year competition in 2017. Along with 54 other finalists I had the opportunity to paint celebrity sitters during an unforgettable six days of filming at the historic Wallace Collection, London. The sitters were famous names from stage and screen, and the crew and judges were great. Selection was from self portraits (as I entered late and there was little time I chose to do this one in a small size!).

Modern portraits – about the process

In the age of digital photography and the selfie, contemporary portraits are gaining in popularity.
